Inheritance Tax Planning

Whether you are a non-tax payer or a basic-rate tax payer, on death you are taxed as a high rate tax payer (i.e. at 40%)

If your assets are valued at over £325,000 (2009/10) when you die you will be liable to pay Inheritance Tax (at a rate of 40%) on the remainder.

Recent changes allow your Nil Rate Band allowance to be ‘carried over’ to your spouse or registered Civil Partner (assuming no chargeable transfers are made) meaning on current thresholds a total of £650,000 can be distributed tax-free.

Many couples now have estates in excess of £650,000 (considering property values, pensions, life insurance, savings, shares & investments) therefore, we have advanced inheritance tax planning products which we tailor to meet the clients individual needs. Large savings can be inexpensive and simple to arrange if you receive the right advice.

If you would like to know what impact Inheritance Tax may have on you and your family,
